Happy to be in Hampi

We arrived in Hampi on Saturday afternoon, this is truly different from Badami due to the river that divides the area. The only way to cross the river is by boat there is no bridge and there won't be because this historical region is controlled by UNESCO.
This is the dock for the boat to cross the river most of the temples are on the other side to were we are staying.

Murthi is on the left.
We quickly meet up with a friend of Biri's Murthi he has suggest the place that we are staying at and guides us to Mowgli.
This is the main entrance to  Mowgli. I would highly recommend this  Guest house and Restaurant so here is the link  Mowgli Guest House
Biri has arrange the accommodation that look at on the rice paddy fields, what a view.
The view from our room at Mowgli.
We take a couple of hours to get settled and get something to eat, the food is surprisingly good.
We set out to the boat dock to catch a ride to the other side and we meet up with our guide with a rickshaw to show us the sights in Hampi.
Taking the boat to the other side to see the temples.

This is the Auto Rickshaw that we took to view all of the  temples and sights  in  Hampi the first day.
We see several temples and end the day with a spectacular sunset from a temple high above the land below.
Ganesha

Krishna temple

After words we meet up with Biri at the Mango Tree restaurant he did not join us on our adventure because he was just here 2 months ago.
It is now about 6:30 the boat fiery stops running at 5:30 the trip over costs the three of us 30 Rs total or about 60 cents now they want us to pay 250 Rs each or about 3 dollars, Biri is having none of it and after a quick call to Murthi we settle on 200 Rs for the 4 of us.
So we all get into this basket boat along with many locals and a 5 gallon can of gas a total of 11 people. The basket boat was about 3 inches out of the water I am glad there were no waves and they paddle across in the dark, what an adventure.
