Jockeying for position

We have done a lot of driving in different parts of India and I thought we had seen some hair raising traffic situations. Nothing can compare to the big city traffic. Well, at least Nagpur has traffic lights and people actually obey them. As we slowed to a stop at a red light, I glanced over and witnessed a crazy sight.  In three lanes of traffic I saw approximately ten motorcycles/scooters waiting and jockeying for position to get the jump on everyone else.

Believe it or not, India does have a helmet law

Scooter scarf

Who needs a helmet. Apparently in the busy season in Goa the local doctor in the clinic near the beach sees 35 motorbike accidents in one day. It is a very serious problem.

School transportation

It was interesting to see all the different school uniforms. These seemed clean and basic but some had lovely scarves for the girls. Nagpur is a pretty city. The main roads travel around this green space which I was told by Shalik was the University.

Tractors in the heart of the city

I can't imagine seeing a old beat up tractor in the middle of Toronto.
